𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵!

On Wednesday we had the pleasure of attending a fantastic networking event at The Midland Hotel, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people and sharing ideas and best practices.

For us, these events aren’t just about making connections — it’s also about continually learning, developing our knowledge and keeping our skills fresh so we can provide the best possible service to our clients ⚖️📚 (And the cakes were yummy!)

It was a great afternoon of conversation, learning and collaboration, and we’re looking forward to putting some of those ideas into practice! The stand out speaker talked about homelessness and how easy it is for anybody to come close to homelessness and her own lived in experience. Now a 39 year old Solicitor, she had experienced homelessness 3 times in her life - at 17, 21, and 24. To go from that to a practising Solicitor was tremendously inspirational 🥰

Here’s a little example of why Mirror Wills aren’t always the right solution. Of course his step-father had the right to do what he wanted with his share, but perhaps morally he should have followed the wishes of his wife with her share. (With full acknowledgment that there’s two sides to every story…)

As we advise clients who are making mirror wills, the survivor can walk in the day after the first dies and change their Will leaving it all to whoever they choose.

Rounding off our celebratory week with some !

Choccies from Mr and Mrs R for whom we acted in a sale of their property. Now this one was NOT straight forward 🙈 But we overcame the issue with the title to part of their gorgeous back garden eventually and completed this week for them.

Mr R called in yesterday to bring us some choccies as modelled by our new Apprentice Paralegal Evie and Legal Secretary Isabelle to say a “big thank you” for our dedicated efforts in getting their files over the line.

You’re so welcome Mr and Mrs R and good luck in your new home - with a full garden 🪴 🏡
