UKAT is the professional body dedicated to advancing the scholarship and practice of student advising and personal tutoring across UK Higher Education. The RSA recognition highlights sustained excellence in supporting students through leadership, organisation, and management of personal tutoring and academic advising.

Nottingham Law School (NLS) Deputy Dean Matthew Homewood recently attended the Campbell University School of Law graduation ceremony in North Carolina, where he had the honour of hooding graduates from the LLM in International Legal Studies, an innovative comparative research focussed programme developed in collaboration with Campbell University.

During his speech, Matthew reflected on the significance of the occasion:
“Graduation is, for me, the absolute highlight of the academic year. [The LLM ] offers students the opportunity to engage with comparative and international perspectives on law - examining how legal rules, institutions, and values operate in different jurisdictions, and how lawyers navigate the increasingly complex legal relationships created by globalisation. Those of you who completed this programme have engaged deeply with international and transnational legal frameworks, explored how law responds to global challenges, and developed analytical skills that will serve you well in an increasingly interconnected profession.
”
