✍️ Did you know there are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney?

An LPA allows you to choose someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf should you need them to — but there are two different types, covering different areas of your life.

💷 Property & Financial Affairs – covering decisions such as managing bank accounts, paying bills, dealing with property and managing finances.

❤️ Health & Welfare – covering decisions about things such as medical treatment, care and where you live. This type can only be used if you lose the mental capacity to make the relevant decision yourself.

You can choose to put one or both in place depending on your circumstances.

And remember, an LPA isn’t just something to think about later in life. Putting one in place while you have capacity means you choose who you trust to make those decisions if the need ever arises.
