“HOW MUCH?”
I've heard that reaction more than once from clients who bought a second home in Andalucía with absolutely no intention of renting it.
Then they discovered what just a few weeks of high-season tourist rentals could generate and became what I call “accidental landlords”. Others still don't rent — but would like to retain the option to do so if their circumstances change.
And that option may now have a value of its own.
As obtaining new tourist licences becomes more difficult and some Communities prohibit them altogether, properties with valid, transferable licences become scarcer.
My latest article looks at an interesting consequence: could the tourist licence itself now be contributing to the value of the property?
And could increasing restrictions actually make those properties that retain tourist-rental rights more valuable?
