Armstrong Solicitors was founded in Newtownabbey in 2009 and in March 2015 we opened our new headquarters in the centre of Glengormley. This 4,000 sq feet office has been designed to offer our clients a genuinely unique and professional experience. We offer legal services in most areas of law, particularly property / conveyancing, claims, family, debt / bankruptcy, and wills and probate. With free

private car park, and services available 6 days a week, we can't always change the law, but we can change the way you experience it.

Why do we, as Northern Ireland solicitors, use social media?

Because we want to help you understand how the law works, explain cases that affect your everyday life, and show why having a good solicitor matters.

We’re careful about what we post, we engage with comments respectfully, but we won’t tolerate abuse.

If you have any questions that we can answer, leave them below.

In Northern Ireland, can you reclaim land that used to be yours?

In this question, we look at whether someone can try to reclaim ownership of land that was taken over by the neighbouring property 40 years ago.

There are a few issues here, but in this case, the answer is almost certainly no.

Meeting our clients face-to-face is crucial to the house buying process at Armstrong Solicitors.

Not only does it help us verify identity and prevent fraud, but it also allows us to build a stronger relationship with you, our client, to ensure clear communication throughout your transaction.

These personal meetings allow us to explain complex legal processes in detail and address any concerns you may have right from the start; and that’s best done face to face.

Buying land in Northern Ireland to build your dream home?

To avoid your dream becoming a nightmare, there are some really important legal issues that must be sorted before you commit.

Even if your planning permission and building control approvals are in order, it’s essential to instruct a solicitor as soon as you can; they will check for the legal rights you’ll need to access your property, and lay whatever pipes and cables you’ll need to bring electricity, broadband, water and sewerage services to and from your site.

We have over 2 decades’ experience dealing with these kind of issues and more.

Contact us RIGHT NOW for an instant few quote and to instruct us on your next move.

Three tips for first-time buyers in Northern Ireland in 2026.

First, know what you can afford by visiting an independent mortgage adviser who can tell you what deposit you need and what monthly payments you can manage, then get a Decision in Principle to show estate agents you’re serious.

Second, think carefully before acting and make decisions based on your own circumstances and your solicitor’s advice, not just what friends or colleagues tell you.

Third, choose your solicitor carefully; we’re the only ones whose job is to act in your best interests and give you honest legal advice, even if others in the process are putting you under pressure.

A very warm welcome to our new Practice Manager, Kasia Lamont! 👋

Many of you will already know Kasia’s friendly face. Kasia (actually Katarzyna, but we get to call her Kasia!) was the Community Branch Manager at the Santander branch right next door to our Glengormley office before its closure.

While it was sad to see our neighbours close their doors, we are absolutely delighted that Kasia hasn’t moved far! She is bringing her incredible leadership, wealth of experience, and deep passion for our local community just a few steps over to Armstrong Solicitors.

As our Practice Manager, Kasia will be keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly and ensuring we continue to provide the top-tier service our clients expect.

Please join us in welcoming Kasia to the team in the comments! 👇
