Society 200th Anniversary Celebration Event at Vermont Hotel -16th May 2025


It was fantastic for our Principal Solicitor Liaquat Latif to be invited as one of the solicitor panelists at the recent Law Society 200th Anniversary Celebration event held at the Vermont Hotel, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The other solicitor panelists were Paul Brown (Newcastle-upon-Tyne Law Society President), Tori Towers and Andrea Proudlock . It was a huge honour for Liaquat to be chosen from over 1500 solicitors in Newcastle to sit on the panel. The panel discussion followed a thought provoking opening speech made by Mark Evans the current Vice President (President elect) of the Law Society.

The fascinating panel discussion was led by Louise Hanson the Chief Executive of the Law Society. In particular Liaquat gave his personal opinions on Diversity and Inclusion for the Solicitor’s profession.

This week sees our 1st XI back in action, away to South North (at Belsay) and will hope to continue their run of good form at the top of Division 1. The 2nd XI, also top of their league, are home vs Wylam.

Latif Solicitors was set up in 2002 by Liaquat Latif who has been very successful over the years in a large number of Immigration law applications, including In-Country, Entry Clearance, Points based applications as well as appeals before Immigration Judges at the North Shields First Tier Tribunal (IAC) and also at other Hearing Centres and also before Senior Immigration Judges at the Upper Tribunal.

You might also recognise him from the 2022 BBC1 show, Northern Justice, where Liaquat was one of the main solicitors featured, highlighting the life-changing work that the firm does each day.
