⭐ DON’T LET A HANDFUL OF REVIEWS TELL THE STORY OF 50,000+ CUSTOMERS ⭐
At Equity Will Writers, we believe reviews are important. Feedback helps businesses improve and gives customers a voice.
But does an online review always tell the whole story?
Since 2010, over 50,000 customers have chosen Equity Will Writers to help them with their estate planning.
Across those thousands of customers, we have received around 95 online reviews.
That means the reviews visible online represent approximately 0.19% of the customers we have dealt with.
That’s why we believe reviews should be considered in perspective.
There are two sides to every story
When you see a negative review, it can be very easy to take it at face value. But before making a judgement about any business, we encourage people to read the review AND the company's response.
Sometimes the full circumstances paint a very different picture.
In our profession, we are dealing with extremely personal matters — Wills, families, property, inheritance and decisions about what happens to someone's estate.
Not everybody will always agree with those decisions.
Sometimes a client may ask for something that simply cannot be achieved legally or practically.
Sometimes family members or adult children may disagree with decisions their parents have independently chosen to make.
And sometimes complaints or reviews are written by people who weren't present at the appointment, didn't hear the conversations that took place and weren't party to the advice or information provided.
That doesn't mean their feelings aren't important. But it does mean there may be important information and context missing from the review.
A negative review doesn't automatically mean a company did something wrong.
Businesses should absolutely be accountable when they make mistakes.
But equally, a professional business sometimes has to say no, explain that something cannot be done, challenge unrealistic expectations or stand by the professional advice it has given.
Doing the right thing for a client will not necessarily make everyone connected to that client happy.
So, what should you look for?
Don't simply count the stars.
Read the review.
Read the company's response.
Look at the facts.
Consider the context.
Look at the company's history.
And then make your own judgement.
For us, that history stretches back to 2010 and more than 50,000 customers.
We don't claim that every single customer will always agree with us. No genuine business serving tens of thousands of people could realistically make that promise.
What we can do is continue to listen, investigate concerns, respond where appropriate and stand behind the professional service we provide.
Ultimately, we believe one of the fairest ways to judge a business is not solely through somebody else's experience — but through your own.
50,000+ customers.
Over 16 years of experience.
Thousands of families helped.
And we're still here doing what we do every day. 💙
