Aftermath Navigator is here!

We’re incredibly excited to finally launch Aftermath Navigator, our new specialist digital support app for road victims and people affected by road trauma.

We know that the aftermath of a serious or fatal road collision can be frightening, overwhelming and confusing. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, grief, anxiety, or simply don’t know what to do next, finding the right information and support can feel like another challenge in itself.

That’s why we created Aftermath Navigator, to put practical guidance, trusted information and emotional support tools in one accessible place.

What can Aftermath Navigator help with?
The app provides:
💙Calming and grounding tools to help during difficult moments
💙Clear information about common reactions to road trauma
💙Practical guidance to help you understand what you may be experiencing
💙Urgent support information and routes to further help
💙Helpful advice for people supporting someone affected by road trauma

Aftermath Navigator is designed to provide a digital first-aid-tool kit in the immediate aftermath of a collision and beyond, helping people take small, manageable steps when everything can feel overwhelming.

It has been developed from our experience supporting people affected by serious and fatal road collisions, alongside feedback from people with lived experience and research carried out with the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).

We’re so proud to finally be able to put Aftermath Navigator into the hands of the people it was created for.

Today it's the turn of Mr Ace to be interviewed for his fundraising efforts for Brake, the road safety charity Paws for Safer Roads initiative!

🦴What is your favourite snack / treat?
I will eat anything I can get my paws on but love chomping on carrots, blueberries and spinach leaves to stay nice and trim. Cheese, chicken and peanut butter are my guilty pleasures. The occasional horse p**p I stumble across on my walkies when mummy and daddy aren’t looking is always a delight too.

🦴Wow - quite the acquired taste! So, where's your favourite place to go walkies?
I love going on long walks around the Saddleworth hills and taking the occasional dip in the local streams.

🦴How have your walkies been for Paws for Safer Roads?
My walkies have been great! I’ve ventured around some new Saddleworth spots and also around Didsbury.

🦴Do you have a bad habit?
I am perfect in every single way. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise…

🦴Noted, Ace! Who is your favourite human?
I switch between mummy and daddy depending on who has given me the most treats and belly tickles that week.

🦴Very wise words. So....an important question...who’s a good boy? Obviously, me… I can’t believe you need to ask!

🦴How has the hot weather affected your challenge?
I’ve been trying to get out earlier in the morning and later in the evenings to stay nice and cool as all my fluff makes it far too warm to go out in the daytime!

🦴What do you like to do after a walk?
I love to lie flat out on my humans’ cold stone kitchen floor after a long walk.

We sat down with Mr Bertie one of our Paws for Safer Roads fundraisers (with the help of his human: Claire Turner), and we asked him a few questions...

🦴What's your favourite snack? I’m a very healthy boy and love carrots, broccoli and sugar snap peas - but I also really like a beef stickie and I’ve been known to get into the Christmas chocolates once or twice…

🦴What sort of stuff do you like to do for walkies? I love going to the field to chase my ballie but the grass makes me itchy. A happy compromise is a walk along the canal path, where I get to stare down the geese.

🦴Have you got any bad habits? I always bark at the football when it is on TV. I really enjoyed the world cup!

🦴Who's your favourite human? Daddy.

🦴Who’s a good boy? I don’t know who’s a good boy, but Bertie is the best boy.

🐕Meet Ace!🐕

Throughout July, he'll be completing an incredible 100km with his human Terri to raise vital funds for Brake, the road safety charity.

Last year alone, Brake supported more than 2,000 families during some of their most difficult times. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps Brake continue providing much-needed support for road traffic victims and their loves ones.
