From 1st June, councils will be able to apply to to Department For Transport to issue fines for moving traffic offences.

This includes yellow box misuse, driving the wrong way on a one way street or making an illegal turn.

The police currently have the power to issue fines for moving traffic offences but this is set to change on 1st June 2022.

Salvation Army New Year Appeal!!

Following our Christmas Appeal we have decided to extend our appeal to provide further assistance to the homeless.

In this time the coldest time of the year and facing a resurgence of
the Covid-19 pandemic those people without shelter are in desperate need.

The Salvation Army are of course renowned for the support they give to the vulnerable members of our society. We have therefore decided to offer our assistance at this time to our local branch of the Salvation Army for all the commendable work they do to help and provide assistance in various ways to the homeless and other members of the community desperately in need.

This Christmas, while there will be a brief relaxation of the rules it will be far more challenging than what we are familiar with in the festive period.

We hope though that we can spare a thought for those who do not have any home of their own in which to invite family or friends.
Across Greater Manchester there are over 5,000 homeless.

There are nearly 2,000 in Manchester. Many of these are sleeping rough.

The Salvation Army are of course renowned for the support they give to the vulnerable members of our society.
