Another successful outcome, this time for a Claimant who suffers with cyclical vomiting disorder. The DWP had refused her claim as they misrecorded the number of days that she was affected at her assessment.
We represented them at the appeal, where the panel did not need to ask any questions of the claimant, basing their decision on our legal submissions - awarding the enhanced rates of both components back to April 2024.

This Claimant obtained an excellent result after using our Mandatory Reconsideration service at the end of 2025. We submitted her legally drafted MR along with evidence including her new style ESA award letter, employment records and absence meeting notes, access to work assessment report, occupational health reports and medical records - in particular letters from her ME/CFS specialist and cardiologist.

A fantastic news story to start the day today with backpay of over £30,000!!!
This Client benefitted from a generous ‘pay it forward’ donation which you will often see us publicise on our pages.

They live with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Depression, Dyspraxia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. They drive and were employed as a support worker in a residential facility around the time of the decision. Due to this the DWP awarded them 0 throughout the claim.

Our Lawyer Chris represented them at the hearing, resulting in an award of enhanced of both components of PIP and a significant amount of backpay!

Hi followers and PIPPettes,
We are determined to get through the backlog of good news stories to tell you about this next week or so .

In this case, the Claimant had been in receipt of both of the standard rates of PIP since 2015. She suffers with anxiety and depression, ADHD, Fibromyalgia, Psoriatic Arthritis and IBS.
In April 2022 she submitted a change in circumstance due to a deterioration in her condition - resulting in the same level of award from the DW.
We helped her to submit an MR in 2023, however the DWP did not properly consider this - simply ‘rubber stamping’ the original decision.
With our help, she progressed to appeal and was awarded enhanced daily living along with the standard mobility award.

Sessions will be held online via Microsoft Teams with the following schedule:

Session 1 – PIP for Claimants: The Legal Criteria (17th November 2026 12:30)
Covering eligibility, the claim process, and the law relating to the two Mobility activities.

Session 2 – PIP for Claimants: The Legal Criteria (Continued) (19th November 2026 12:30)
Exploring the law relating to the ten Daily Living activities.

Session 3 – PIP Forms and Assessments (24th November 2026 12:30)
Practical guidance on completing the PIP2 & PIP Review forms using legislation and case law, preparing strong evidence, understanding claimant rights during assessments, and reviewing the assessment report.

Session 4 – PIP Mandatory Reconsiderations and Appeals (26th November 2026 12:30)
Guidance on managing an MR, including time limits, evidence gathering, and lodging an appeal. Attendees will also learn about the appeals process, what to expect at hearings, how to prepare effectively, and the role of Upper Tribunal appeals.

This new series builds on the success of our recent PIP webinar programme, which saw overwhelming demand from claimants and carers earlier this year. Demand for the previous series was so high that we will be delivering this next series via Microsoft Teams to accommodate a larger audience, and feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.

Our senior advocate, Chris, recently represented a Claimant at appeal in relation to a LEAP.

A LEAP appeal is a form of appeal for specific claims with decisions decided incorrectly due to updated case law for a small number of specific circumstances.

The recent appeal was successful and the Claimant now has an award of the Enhanced Rate for both Daily Living and Mobility.

We love a good news day.

Another successful hearing yesterday for our client who lives with ADHD and mental health conditions.
At the time of he assessment they were working full time as a customs officer at an airport. The DWP had awarded them 0 points throughout due to the fact that they worked and were able to drive.
After yesterday’s video hearing, they have been awarded the standard rate of both components of PIP.
