The first Child Focused Court case has reached the Court of Appeal.

In Re C [2026] EWCA Civ 1216, the Court has provided important guidance on how the Child Focused Court approach should operate in private children cases, particularly where domestic abuse is alleged or established.

The judgment looks at fact-finding hearings, Cafcass recommendations and the importance of properly considering welfare and risk in each individual case.
