Step 1: Gather the necessary tools and materials Before starting, make sure you have the right equipment. You'll need a pressure washer, scrub brush, hose, cleaning solution (such as a mixture of water and detergent), and safety gear (gloves, goggles, and closed-toe shoes).
Step 2: Start by removing any loose debris on the driveway/patio. Sweep away leaves, dirt, and other debris using a broom or leaf blower. This step will make the cleaning process more effective.
Step 3: Apply a commercial degreaser or DIY solution to the stains and let it soak for a few minutes. Scrub the stains gently with a brush to loosen the grime.
Step 4: Begin by wetting the driveway/patio with a hose. Then, using the pressure washer, work your way from one end of the driveway to the other, focusing on small sections at a time. Maintain a consistent distance from the surface to avoid damaging it. The high-pressure water will blast away dirt, grime, and stains, revealing a cleaner driveway/patio.
Step 5: Use a scrub brush dipped in the cleaning solution in circular motions to tackle any remaining stains or spots. Once you're done scrubbing, rinse the driveway/patio thoroughly.
Step 6: Allow time to dry or you can speed up the drying process by using a leaf blower. If you have block paving (no grout) you will have to replace the sand by brushing in sand between all the paving blocks to inhibit growth of weeds and prevent them from moving out of place.
