Thinking of buying or selling a home? You’re a major stakeholder - even if no one’s told you yet.
⚖️ Home Buying & Selling Reforms - Have Your Say
The Government’s consultation on reforming the home-buying process opened on 6 October 2025 and runs for 12 weeks (closing 29 December). You probably won’t have heard of it, but we think as a major stakeholder, you the public ought to be included.
These proposals could significantly change how property transactions are conducted - potentially shifting more responsibility and risk onto sellers and their conveyancers. Transparency is vital, but reform must also be balanced and workable for the professionals who deliver it.
The consultation is open to everyone with an interest in the process. Yet the voices of the public - the very people this reform is meant to serve - seem largely absent from the stakeholder discussions so far. If this is to be genuine reform, the process must include every perspective: conveyancers, agents, search providers and the public alike.
We’re reviewing the consultation in detail and will be submitting our response and publish it on here.
If you’re involved in the property industry, or planning to buy or sell, we encourage you to read the proposals and make your voice heard.
