Public AI tools, such as ChatGPT and Claude may store and use what you type and the answers they give. This means that private information you enter could be seen by people outside your case.

Some information is meant to stay private between you and your solicitor. If you share it with a public AI tool, a court may decide that it is no longer legally private.

If that happens, the other side in your case may be allowed to see the information and use it in court. This could include advice from your solicitor, emails, or documents that could harm your case.

For this reason, you should be very careful about putting private details, legal advice, or case documents into public AI tools.

From 1st September 2026, around 37,000 FCA-regulated companies will be expected to report any serious cases of non-financial misconduct to the regulator. The firms will also be required to pass on reports of bad behaviour, including racism, sexual harassment, violence and intimidation, to a manager’s prospective future employer. Banks have been subject to these requirements for some time. From the beginning of next month, many hedge funds, insurance companies, investment bankers, and brokers will also have to comply. We recently raised £3,800 for Will Aid, which supports a range of partner charities, including Age UK, the British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Crisis, NSPCC, Shelter, and others. Since first taking part in 2017, our team has raised more than £6,000 for Will Aid. Our solicitors volunteer their time and expertise, helping people draft their Wills, in exchange for a donation to the charity.
