Not only was Roger Leyland a Partner at the firm, but he was the first black Partner at a leading city law firm. He was deeply committed to the development of young Lawyers, so in his name, we created the Roger Leyland Memorial Scholarship.

Happy New Year! We hope you’ve had a relaxing holiday break and are feeling ready for a new year.

While the application season is coming to a close, you can still apply for the Roger Leyland Memorial Scholarship, to become a Campus Ambassador and join one of our First Year Workshops.

Here on Facebook, our Campus Ambassadors will be chatting about the benefits of their role and what it involves. Keep an eye out if you’re considering applying, it’s a great way to get to know the firm and earn while you study.

The next big deadline is for our First Year Workshops. Be sure to follow us across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to learn more. Over two days you’ll gain real insight into the work we do, get to network, and even shadow a Trainee.

Last but not least, there’s still time to apply for the Roger Leyland Memorial Scholarship which provides financial support and work experience to exceptional black and minority ethnic students.

Luckily there’s just one date you’ll need to remember: 31 January - so be sure to get your applications in before then!

Applications are now open for HSF's First Year Schemes 2022. Open to second years on a four year degree as well as all first years from any degree discipline, the deadline is 31st January. The holiday season is fast approaching, is it too soon to be feeling festive?

In this month’s roundup, we’re shouting from the rooftops on all of our channels that there are only 2 more days to apply for our Spring and Summer Vacation Schemes. If you’ve not started yet, don’t stress, there’s still time to submit an impressive application. You might also see a couple of videos of our Ambassadors, as they describe their less ‘traditional’ routes into law.

The final instalment of our 90 Seconds With series is also going live on Instagram. You’ll meet Olivia, a Human Resources Manager, who you might also recognise from Pointless...

The days are getting shorter, the evenings are getting chillier and people everywhere are debating whether it’s too soon for cheesy Christmas music...

This all means one thing, November is here! During the next month you’ll be reminded that our spring and summer Vacation Scheme applications are closing in early December. Try not to leave your application to the last minute, you don’t want to rush it.

We’re also shining a spotlight on the last episode of our Elevate Your Application series, which is all about the assessment day where we finally get to meet you in person. Keep an eye out for this as it’s brimming with advice on how to prepare and what to expect.

Over on our Instagram Stories, you’ll have the chance to ask us anything, so whether you have a question about choosing your seat or want to know more about our different networks, we’re here to help!

Keep an eye out on Instagram and LinkedIn for our Ambassador films where we’re celebrating the less ‘conventional’ routes you can take into law. Applications are now open for HSF's Winter, Spring and Summer Vacation Schemes, as well as their Innovation Open Day, IP, Cyber and Tech Open Day, and Disputes Open Day. The deadlines are above, but for more information about eligibility and to apply please see the Careers section of HSF's website.
