It is with great sadness that we announce that Iain Ross passed away on Sunday 12th March 2023.
Iain was a founding member of ILA and had been with us for 8.5 years.
He was highly respected in his roles as Legal Assessor and Immigration Judge.
He was our dear friend and colleague and was extremally popular amongst Regulators with his no nonsense and nothing was ever too much trouble approach.
Our thoughts and condolences are with his husband Hiroshi, his family and friends at this time.

We will share further information as to arrangements when they known.

It is with great sadness we announce that David Clark passed away on Sunday 14th March 2021.

David had been a member with ILA for 6 years and was highly respected in his roles as Legal Assessor, Panel Chair and Legally Qualified Chair.

He was our dear friend and colleague.

SHERIFF APPOINTMENT:
We are delighted and proud to announce that Robert Frazer has been appointed as Sheriff in the Grampian, Highlands and Islands based from Inverness Court.
Bobby has been an active member of our team since he joined us nearly 4 years ago undertaking work with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), Social Work England, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Judicial success AGAIN for Mr. Gary Leong:
Following on from Gary's recent successful news of only 3 weeks ago regarding his appointment as a Judge to the First-tier Tribunal (SEC -Social Entitlement Chamber) we are delighted to announce more good news. Gary has now been appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Civil) on the Midland Circuit. Congratulations from all of us at ILA.

Judicial success for Mr. Gary Leong:
We are delighted to announce that Gary has been appointed by the Senior President of Tribunals as a fee paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (SEC -Social Entitlement Chamber). Gary will be hearing matters regarding social security, child support, appeals against decisions of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority and support for asylum seekers.
Our warmest congratulations are given to Gary from all of us at ILA.

Well it has been a fantastic and very enjoyable year at ILA. On that note we would like to congratulate Mr. Richard Ferry-Swainson, Mr. Graeme Henderson, Mr. Gerry Coll, Mr. Graeme Dalgleish and Mr. Gary Leong on recently being appointed and having now each undertaken their first sittings as Legal Assessors with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Congratulations are also given to Margaret Obi on being appointed and having recently sat as a Legal Assessor to the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).

We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2019 from all of us here at ILA.

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Graeme Dalgleish (Hastie Stable - Edinburgh) has recently joined Independent Legal Assessors Ltd.

Graeme is an established Legal Assessor with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and has recently been appointed to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Graeme brings further strength and support to our team with UK coverage for regulatory panels.

We are delighted to announce that Ms. Francesca Keen has joined us here at ILA. Francesca commenced with us on 1st September 2018 and increases our overall number at ILA to 28.
She is a Legal Assessor to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), an Independent Adjudicator for the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), an Independent Adjudicator for Powys County Council National Trading Standards Estate Agency Team and an Independent Education Appeal Panel Member for Central Bedfordshire Council.
