🐾 Big news for renters in the UK!

As of May 2026, tenants now have the legal right to request a pet, and landlords can no longer simply say “no” without a valid reason.

It’s not a free-for-all (permission is still required), but it’s a major shift toward fairer renting:
✔️ Requests must be considered individually
✔️ Refusals must be reasonable and explained
✔️ More opportunities for tenants to keep their pets

For tenants, it’s a long-overdue step forward.
For landlords, it means adapting to a more balanced system.

Is this the beginning of a more pet-friendly rental market? 🐶🐱

Struggling with debt and unsure where to turn?
Our latest blog breaks down everything you need to know about Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), what they are, how they work, and whether they could be the right solution for managing serious debt.

An IVA can:

✔ Freeze interest and charges
✔ Stop creditor pressure
✔ Offer structured, affordable repayments
✔ Potentially write off remaining debt at the end of the term
But it’s not suitable for everyone, and entering into one without proper advice can have long-term consequences for your credit rating, assets, and financial future.
As solicitors, we provide independent, tailored advice to help you understand all your options whether that’s an IVA or an alternative route that better protects your interests.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by debt, early advice can make all the difference.

Only firms that meet these high standards are awarded CQS status, which is the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Standards, and we are proud to be one of them.

Why Does CQS Matter to You? Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a property, or re-mortgaging, you want to know you’re in safe hands. Choosing a CQS-accredited firm means:

* Trust and Transparency - Our clients can be confident they are dealing with professionals who follow transparent processes and adhere to a high code of conduct.

* Expertise You Can Rely On - Our conveyancers are highly trained and up to date with current legislation and industry practices. You benefit from a team that knows exactly how to manage your transaction efficiently and securely.

* Reduced Risk of Delays or Issues - With our proven procedures and quality control, we proactively manage transactions to reduce the risk of errors, delays, or unexpected costs.

* Recognised by Mortgage Lenders - Many lenders require CQS-accredited firms for mortgage-related legal work. Our accreditation means we’re already on most lender panels, streamlining the process and preventing unnecessary delays.

* Peace of Mind - Moving home can be stressful – but knowing your legal work is handled by a firm recognised for excellence makes the journey smoother and less uncertain.
