Leadership buy-in and governance get talked about as if they’re the same thing.

They’re not 🤷🏻‍♀️

Leadership buy-in is about support, sponsorship and championing the agenda. Absolutely vital, yes. But not the same as governance.

Governance is what makes the work accountable. It defines who owns the insight, who has the authority to act, how progress is reviewed, and how decisions get made.

One practical expression of that is leadership accountability.

Is wellbeing reflected in how leaders are measured, supported and held accountable? Questions like: Did you act on what your team told you? Did anything actually change?

When the answer to those questions has visibility, ownership and follow-through, things get done.

When it doesn’t, even the best insight stays stuck in a deck somewhere 🫣

Our latest B Corp Impact Report is live 💥

As a B Corp, we publish an impact report each year - because - transparency matters! It’s one of the ways we hold ourselves accountable to the standards we’ve signed up to, and to the people and organisations who place their trust in us. We believe “doing good work” should be visible, measurable (where possible), and open to scrutiny.

In our report, we share the progress we’ve made across B Corp's 5 core impact areas: governance, workers, customers, environment and community, including how we’re strengthening responsible practice, investing in sustainable high performance within our team, and developing more accessible, high-impact ways to support organisations on wellbeing and culture. We’ve also been honest about what we’re still building and where we want to go next.

If you have a moment to read through it, we'd love to hear any feedback you have.

It's live on our blog: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0v2SSc0

Individual tools and organisational change. Both matter. Neither is enough on its own.

Yesterday we ran two webinars for Elsevier on stress and burnout.

In the morning, we explored what individuals can do to manage stress in their own lives. In the afternoon, three senior leaders from Elsevier came together as a panel to talk openly about what the organisation is doing to address stress at a systemic level.

Both sessions were delivered by the brilliant Dr Tom Gedman.

Plenty of organisations talk about wellbeing. Fewer are willing to interrogate the structures, cultures and conditions that create stress in the first place.

That distinction matters deeply to us. Stress is not a personal failing. It is not something individuals should simply get better at absorbing. Real change requires leaders who are willing to look honestly at culture, at workload, and at the conditions they create.

That is exactly what yesterday’s panellists did. They showed up with honesty, grace and a genuine commitment to shaping a culture where people feel supported, valued and well.

We are so grateful to Beck Stockdale for championing this approach and for making space for this kind of conversation.

HR Magazine recently approached us for comment on an article about presenteeism - a topic that remains deeply relevant in today’s workplaces.

Too often, showing up ill is still seen as dedication. A sign of resilience. Proof of commitment.

But more often, it points to something more concerning: a culture where people do not feel able to pause when they need to.

Sustainable performance does not come from people pushing through at all costs. It comes from cultures where health is taken seriously, support is available early, and rest is not quietly penalised.

It’ll come as no surprise that, as a team, we’re pretty hopeless consumers of wellbeing content. We can’t get enough of books, podcasts, articles, webinars… anything we can learn from and bring into our work and the rest of our lives.

And when we come across something genuinely useful, we find it hard not to share it.

You seemed to really enjoy The Kamwell Book Club, so we’re excited to introduce something new (drum roll, please… 🥁)

🎧 Episode 1 of The Kamwell Pod Club is live!

Each month we’ll share our favourite wellbeing podcasts in a simple, easy-to-digest list, including the specific episodes we’ve found most useful.

We hope you enjoy and find it helpful. And if you’ve got a must-listen recommendation, drop it in the comments.

Earlier this week we took the team out of our usual settings and spent the day working from the iconic National Theatre in London.

There was something genuinely energising about the change of scenery, and about being together somewhere designed for creativity.

Challenge for you: where could you or your team work from for a day to shake things up, whether you’re office-based, hybrid, or remote? Or do you already have a favourite spot? If so, please share!

The team is back together after the festive break 🎉 First item on our agenda: a proper check-in to reconnect after the extended time apart.

Connection is the foundation for...well...pretty much everything: shared vision and purpose, better decisions, smoother collaboration...and yes, productivity too.

We try not to be too structured with this but take gentle inspiration from these four questions:

1. Score out of 10: “Today I’m at a _ /10” + 1–2 key reasons (keep it punchy)
2. What’s one thing you’re carrying into this week? (work or life)
3. What do you need from the team to have a good week?
4. What’s one thing you’re excited to make progress on?

Why it works: it rebuilds shared context fast so you’re not guessing on capacity, priorities, or what’s going on under the surface.

Happy 2026, everyone ✨
