I’m delighted to share that I’ve been shortlisted as one of three finalists for the Community Champion Award at the Aleto Foundation’s 15th Anniversary Awards & Celebration! 🏆

This recognition is particularly meaningful because the Aleto Foundation has played an important role in my personal and professional journey.

Through Aleto, I’ve had the privilege of being mentored by two extraordinary individuals: Veronica Martin OBE and Sir Kenneth, whose wisdom, encouragement and commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders have left a lasting impression on me.

I’ve always believed that leadership is not simply about how far we go, but how many people we empower along the way.

As someone whose own journey has been transformed by the generosity of mentors, educators and communities who believed in my potential, I’ve made it my mission to extend those same opportunities to others.

Whether through mentoring young people, widening access to education, championing social mobility, or my work through OmniSpace to make AI more inclusive and accessible, I’ve sought to demonstrate that meaningful change begins when we recognise the potential in others.

To date, I’ve been privileged to contribute to initiatives that have helped upskill over 10,000 people and support individuals and organisations in raising over £400,000 to study at University of Oxford, Harvard University and UCL. But beyond the numbers, what matters most are the lives transformed, the doors opened and the possibilities created.

Community is not merely something we belong to. It is something we have a responsibility to build, nurture and leave better than we found it.

I’m incredibly grateful to the Aleto Foundation for this recognition and extend my congratulations to my fellow finalists!

I look forward to celebrating the Foundation’s remarkable 15-year legacy on 11th November 2026 at Genesis Cinema, alongside the incredible people who continue to demonstrate what is possible when talent meets opportunity.

Here’s to building communities where potential is not determined by privilege, but nurtured through opportunity. 🌍

Humans are so interesting. We often want what we don’t need and need what we don’t want.

We crave certainty, yet it is uncertainty that makes discovery possible. We desire freedom, yet construct identities, routines and relationships that constrain us. We seek comfort, yet some of our most profound transformations emerge from discomfort.

Perhaps the greatest paradox of human existence is that we are not always reliable judges of our own flourishing.

We mistake familiarity for truth, pleasure for happiness, and control for peace. We pursue things believing they will complete us, only to discover that the pursuit itself has shaped us more profoundly than the prize.

And perhaps that is the unsettling truth: what we desire reveals who we are, but what we resist may reveal who we have yet to become.

So here’s a question worth contemplating: If becoming the person you ought to be requires surrendering the things you most want, would you still choose to become that person?

Taught my first classes today!

It was fantastic! The lecture and seminars were very enjoyable. The students were very engaged.

We covered important topics like science and military technologies from historical, philosophical and sociology perspectives.

We also talked about social constructivism, which is essentially the idea that technology doesn’t just emerge from the ether on this inevitable march of progress to shape society. Society actively shapes science and technology.

Was a pleasure speaking And my darling Kezia was there to support me. The event all about Africa, fashion, art and power and I shared some thoughts on decolonial AI and ensuring that Africa doesn’t get left behind in this tech revolution.
