JUSTICE FOR HEALTH SUPPORT DR CHRIS DAY'S EMERGENCY FUNDRAISING APPEAL
Dr Chris Day, a junior doctor from London, has been fighting for almost two years to ensure doctors are protected against loss of their training posts if they raise patient safety concerns and "whistleblow". He needs your help.
Chris lost his job after raising the alarm about staffing issues on his Intensive Care Unit. The decision was taken by Health Education England (HEE). However, his case has so far revealed that HEE are not subject to the rules of employment law to challenge such decisions. Shockingly it seems that this is intentional - that, by design, junior doctors are devoid of employment law protection for raising patient safety concerns. It is vital for public safety that all NHS staff, including junior doctors, are able to do this without fear of losing their careers.
Chris' case could see the whole relationship between junior doctors and HEE re-examined and offer staff more robust employment rights and job security.
Thanks to your donations our Judicial Review revealed that the Secretary of the State is not imposing a contract on junior doctors. However, Trusts are facing financial penalties if they do not adopt the new contract. These penalties are being imposed by HEE; an organisation who can remove training posts from doctors without any recourse or methods of appeal.
Chris needs your help to fight this for all doctors. We are asking you to help Chris help us all.
Chris has a young family and cannot risk the financial losses of this case alone. Please donate if you can. It is only through these individual challenges that the accountability and safety that patients and NHS staff deserve can be achieved.
Please keep helping in any way you can.
Ben, Nadia, Marie, Fran and Amar.

I'm continuing the fight to secure the same full statutory whistleblowing protection for junior doctors that protects other NHS staff.
