One process now governs every rent increase. Find out!

Raising the rent? There's only one valid way now.
Four months into the Renters' Rights Act, the rules on rent increases have settled into a single process. A Section 13 notice on Form 4A is now the only valid route, rent review clauses and informal agreements no longer count, even if they're still in the tenancy agreement. An increase can happen just once a year, with two months' notice rather than one. And if a tenant refers it to the tribunal, the tribunal won't set the rent higher than you proposed.
