Our Officers of the Inn for 2026 have been confirmed 🌟

Congratulations to The Hon Mr Justice Trower (pictured) on his election to Keeper of the Walks - the first rung on the ladder to Treasurer.

The election of the Officers of the Inn for 2027 was confirmed at the July Council meeting. For 2027, the Officers will be:

✅Treasurer: Michael Todd KC
✅Keeper of the Library: Dame Susanna McGibbon DCB KC (Hon)
✅Keeper of the Black Book and Dean of the Chapel: Andrew White KC
✅Keeper of the Walks: The Hon Mr Justice Trower

Heraldry abounds in Lincoln’s Inn – on panels and in the windows in the Great Hall and the Old Hall, on the exteriors of the buildings and in the Chapel windows.

Join our next Black Books Society Lecture by Mark Scott, Somerset Herald at the College of Arms, who will discuss various historical and legal developments in heraldry with particular reference to the heraldry on display in the Inn.

Lincoln’s Inn Library will be closed on Monday 31 August for the Late Summer Bank Holiday and it will reopen at 9:00 on Tuesday 1 September.

Congratulations to our 32 GDL Scholars for 2026. The scholarships were awarded based on exceptional merit, we are delighted to be able to offer approximately £183,500 of support. We wish all our scholars the best of luck on their journey to the Bar.

Visit our oldest surviving building at Open House on 12 September 🏛️

Built in 1485, the Old Hall was used by Benchers, barristers, and students of the Inn for social and educational activities.

This role has allowed me to make a meaningful difference to students’ experience at the Inn — from organising and hosting the Winter and Summer balls, to representing students’ interests within the Pre-Call Committee and in meetings with the Bar Council. It has provided me with a unique opportunity to work closely with barristers, Benchers, and Inn staff, all of whom provided me incredible support both in my work as LISA President and in pursuing my career goals. Step inside our Victorian Great Hall at this year's Open House Festival on 12 September 🏛️

Opened by Queen Victoria in 1845, this Hall complete with Minstrels’ Gallery, a striking fresco and ceiling of beautifully worked oak is used daily as a dining hall for members of the Inn, as well as for a variety of events - it even featured as the location of the final for the latest series of 'The Apprentice' on the BBC!
