The UK remains one of the world's strongest business hubs. Moving your company to London gives you direct access to global capital, top-tier talent, and a completely different level of scaling opportunities.

The smartest moves start with the right immigration strategy. In the UK, your visa route, tax planning, and business structure are deeply connected.

The main routes available today:
• Innovator Founder for entrepreneurs.
• Global Talent for top professionals and founders.
• Sponsor Licences for growing teams.
• Global Mobility for international expansion.

At Sterling Law, we help founders and international companies navigate the system and build a solid foundation in Britain.

🇬🇧 Fashion designers are increasingly using the UK Global Talent Visa to build international careers in Britain - and today this route goes far beyond major luxury fashion houses.

More and more applicants include:
• independent designers
• fashion brand founders
• creatives
• fashion graduates
• professionals already gaining industry recognition

One of the most important things to understand about the fashion route:
Your professional story and how it is presented within the application matter enormously.

The British Fashion Council looks closely at:
• creative work
• collections
• visibility
• media recognition
• industry impact
• collaborations
• commercial presence of the brand

Strong supporting evidence may include:
• fashion publications
• runway coverage
• interviews
• stockists
• luxury retailer orders
• recognition from established industry figures

And yes - even recent graduates may qualify under the Exceptional Promise category if their graduating collection has already attracted attention from recognised professionals within the fashion industry.

Another major advantage of the Global Talent route is flexibility.

This visa allows designers to:
• build their own brand
• work independently
• collaborate internationally
• live and work in the UK without employer sponsorship

while also creating a pathway towards settlement:
• after 3 years for Exceptional Talent
• or after 5 years for Exceptional Promise.

From practice, many strong designers already have the level required for Global Talent applications, but lose strength in their case because of:
• weak strategy
• poorly structured evidence
• generic recommendation letters
• ineffective presentation of media recognition

That is why preparation and positioning play such an important role in successful applications.

📩 If you are exploring the UK Global Talent route as a fashion designer - or wondering whether your profile may already qualify - feel free to contact the Sterling Law team for a strategic assessment of your case.

Very often, the strongest applications begin with understanding how to position your achievements correctly.

Global Business Mobility Visa has become one of the key immigration routes for international companies expanding into the UK market.

In practice, this route is increasingly used by:
• international tech companies
• consulting firms
• corporate groups
• founders and investors
• businesses relocating key employees to the UK

What makes this category particularly important is that it allows businesses to establish operational presence in Britain while transferring experienced specialists and management teams into the market.

At the same time, many professionals use this route strategically — as an opportunity to adapt to the UK business environment, strengthen international experience, improve English fluency, and later transition into longer-term immigration categories.

The Global Business Mobility route includes several categories, such as:
• Senior or Specialist Worker
• UK Expansion Worker
• Graduate Trainee
• Service Supplier
• Secondment Worker

Each category comes with different requirements, timelines, and strategic considerations.

One of the most underestimated aspects of these applications is that the Home Office assesses far more than the individual employee alone.

In many cases, the key focus is placed on:
• the structure of the business
• the relationship between international entities
• operational activity
• financial stability
• sponsor licence compliance
• the long-term commercial rationale behind the UK presence

This is why successful applications often depend on the quality of preparation, supporting documentation, and overall business strategy behind the case.

At Sterling Law, we regularly assist international businesses and professionals with:
• sponsor licence applications
• Global Business Mobility visas
• UK expansion strategies
• corporate structuring
• long-term immigration planning
• transitions into settlement routes in the UK

As the UK continues positioning itself as a global business hub, strategic immigration planning is becoming an increasingly important part of international growth and market expansion.

The £329,000 Verdict: Procedural Errors in Employment Law 🇬🇧⚖️

A recent UK Employment Tribunal decision resulted in a £329,000 award against an employer. The case demonstrates the significant financial risk of dismissing staff based on internal assumptions rather than professional medical evidence.

The core issue: The company dismissed a long-term employee on sick leave after private surveillance suggested he was fit for work. However, the Tribunal ruled that management’s interpretation of video footage cannot legally override a formal medical diagnosis or Occupational Health reports.

In cases involving disability, statutory compensation caps often do not apply, leading to substantial awards for loss of earnings and injury to feelings.

Protecting your position:
If you have been subject to a dismissal that bypassed standard procedures or ignored a medical condition, legal intervention is necessary to secure your rights.

Anton Nikolaiev, Solicitor and Head of the Commercial Department at Sterling Law, specialises in Employment Law and Litigation. He advises clients on challenging unfair decisions and securing appropriate compensation for procedural breaches.

Today, we’re launching Sterling Max - a platform designed for clients whose needs rarely fit into a single category.

Most people who come to us are not dealing with one straightforward issue.
They may need a visa, but also a company. A company, but also a bank account. A bank account - but also a corporate structure, compliance, tax planning, and the legal framework that supports all of it.

The professionals involved are often highly capable. That is rarely the issue. The challenge is fragmentation. In the UK, immigration, legal, corporate and financial services are typically delivered separately. Each adviser manages one part, while the client is left to coordinate the broader process.

For entrepreneurs relocating to the United Kingdom, founders establishing businesses here, and private clients navigating complex decisions, that fragmentation creates delays, duplicated effort and avoidable risk.

Sterling Max brings those services into one coordinated framework.
Built on the regulatory foundation of Sterling Law - SRA-regulated and recognised by Legal 500, with 18 years of practice, the platform connects immigration, legal support, business setup and compliance through one entry point and one coordinated team.
It also includes an AI-guided intake tool, designed to help identify the most relevant service pathways before the first consultation, so conversations begin with context rather than from scratch.

For clients making significant personal or commercial decisions, that means a clearer route forward.

If you’re considering relocating to the UK, establishing a business, or reviewing your next steps already in the UK, book a consultation. We’ll assess your circumstances, identify the relevant legal and business considerations, and connect you with the right specialists in a single coordinated process.

Sterling Law is pleased to announce that the firm represented Humanoid, the UK-based AI and robotics company, in its landmark deployment and supply agreement with Schaeffler, a leading global motion technology company. Announced on 13 May 2026, the agreement is one of the largest disclosed humanoid robot rollouts to date and will see thousands of Humanoid’s wheeled robotic units deployed across Schaeffler’s global manufacturing facilities by 2032.

The transaction comprises a phased deployment agreement structured around a Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, together with a five-year supply agreement under which Schaeffler will serve as Humanoid’s preferred supplier of joint actuators for its wheeled platforms through 2031. Initial deployments will commence in live German production environments in late 2026, beginning at Schaeffler’s facilities in Herzogenaurach and Schweinfurt, with the supply arrangement expected to translate into a seven-digit volume of actuators over its term.

The Sterling Law team was led by Ilia Martynov, Head of Corporate Advisory, who acted for Humanoid across the full scope of the transaction.

Ilia Martynov, Head of Corporate Advisory at Sterling Law, commented:

“It has been a privilege to act for Humanoid on this transformative agreement with Schaeffler. This deal marks a defining moment not only for our Client but for the global humanoid robotics industry, and we are proud to have supported Humanoid in reaching such a significant milestone. We congratulate the entire Humanoid team on this remarkable and well-deserved achievement and look forward to continuing to accompany the company on its journey as it scales its operations worldwide.”

Sterling Law extends its congratulations to Humanoid, its founder, and to all parties involved in bringing this landmark partnership to completion.

The King’s Speech: UK Shifts Toward Total Control 🇬🇧⚖️

The King’s Speech has set a clear agenda for the coming years: the UK is transitioning to a fully digital, highly regulated environment.

What is changing?
The government is implementing Digital IDs and tightening oversight across the board. For businesses, this means stricter cybersecurity standards and heavy fines. For individuals, it marks a move toward total transparency in income and taxes. In this new system, legal inconsistencies will be nearly impossible to hide.

Impact on Immigration
With a renewed focus on economic contribution and rigorous applicant auditing, the path to ILR is becoming more demanding. A flawless record and strict tax compliance are no longer optional - are essential to maintaining your status.

How to respond?
As rules tighten, those who plan strategically will have the advantage. Delaying your application could mean failing to meet new, tougher criteria later.

Sterling Law helps you eliminate legal risks and future-proof your status.
