A very interesting grant of entry clearance to a Bangladeshi spouse on a 5-year route where the sponsor was not a British citizen or settled person but has limited leave under the 20-year long residence rules (private life).

Sponsor is over the moon that he doesn't have to wait nearly 10 years to bring his spouse to the UK and I know i have many other clients facing the same issue!

Just shows the importance of making detailed representations where strict requirements of the Rules are not met!!

If reports are to be believed, it appears that Bangladesh may finally be removed from the Red List of Countries. Hopefully visit visas should now be issued and decisions made on many applications which have been stuck in the system.

We have successfully overturned a number of unjust and discriminatory visa refusals for family members in during this time so even if you are not given a right of appeal, it is always worth challenging the British High Commission if you have grounds to do so and don't just accept the refusal!
