Skilled Worker Extension: No CoS Allocation – Home Office Guidance 2026

This is a very sensitive topic for everyone in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa.

Your extension is due — you got 1, 2 or 3 years before, same employer, same job, same job description. Everything is fine. But your employer applied for a new CoS allocation and it's delayed. No result. And your visa is about to expire.

You cannot overstay. Which visa do you apply for? You have no other choice — you must apply for Skilled Worker again. But you don't have a new CoS number.
