What is going on with the mortgage rates?

Santander, TSB, HSBC, Nationwide, those are just some of the lenders in the last couple of days have all increased their mortgage rates. What is going on? Bank of England cut the rights last week, and may not many people expected to see interest rates for.

Instead, we've seen the exact opposite, and lenders start to increase not just the fixed rates but also the standard variable rates.

It beggars belief, right. it's really important if you got mortgages that are coming up for renewal, you speak to your mortgage advisor, and secure the best rate that you can right now.

The government is set to introduce a bill in the Commons next week which will ban landlords from evicting tenants without a reason.

Ministers are expected to bring the Renters' Rights Bill for its first reading.

A ban on no-fault evictions has long been promised but repeatedly delayed, with the previous Conservative government running out of time. The bill will be debated later in autumn.

At the heart of the bill - which is aimed at giving renters greater protections and cracking down on a unscrupulous landlords - is a ban on Section 21 evictions
