Summer holidays are a killer for me when it comes to penalty tickets 😩. If I can go a summer with no tickets it’s a celebration 🎉.

This was my first ticket this summer and I was honestly devastated! Why? Because I’m pretty careful and usually, if I get a ticket I’m aware of the mistake I have made. In this case, I wasn’t. So, I researched the road (as this PCN came in the post), discovered it was a school street road but, I still did not get how I missed the sign.

I looked the road up on google maps and noticed the sign was at the beginning of the road. I merged on to the road, through the middle of the road, NOT the beginning of the road. There was no signage at this point. This meant I had a case!

Of course I had to appeal it and fortunately, I was successful. The point of the story is, don’t doubt yourself and don’t just accept tickets if you are not in the wrong! Fight it!

Unfortunately, FREEDOM DAY has been extended to the 19th July but there are some EXCEPTIONS!

The 30-person limit on services and receptions will be abandoned- so weddings can go ahead. However, venues will still be restricted by how many they can accommodate while respecting social distancing rules.

Also, a ‘break clause’ has been offered, meaning there will be another review of the situation in two weeks’ time.

Let’s hope for the best and all stay safe. 🙏🏾🤞🏾🙏🏾
