India’s Climate Change Policy Framework! 🌍

Our comprehensive research report on India’s climate change policies, conducted as part of our 2020 Summer School Internship Program delves into the historical and evolving frameworks of climate change policy, examining India’s strides and challenges in meeting global climate commitments and Sustainable Development Goals.

The study reveals how policy approaches like the “Polluter Pays Principle” and the integration of indigenous knowledge can shape sustainable resilience. However, gaps remain in adaptation strategies and climate finance, especially in response to frequent natural disasters and urbanisation’s impacts on emissions. The report offers strategic recommendations to close these gaps and highlights India’s unique role in global climate governance.

🌍💧 Human Rights and Climate Change: Unveiling the Water Crisis in India

We are excited to share the findings of our latest research study, “Displacement Due to Water-Related Issues in India: Perspective on Climate Change and Its Effects on Human Rights.” This report highlights the growing threat that climate change poses to essential human rights, with a focus on water crises. Our team delved deep into the catastrophic impact of natural disasters, human-induced disasters, and the severe water shortages that displace millions across India every year.

Conducted as part of our Summer School Internship Program 2022, this study offers a unique perspective on how access to clean water—a basic human right that is increasingly at risk due to climate change.

Key findings of the report explore:
- How natural and human-induced disasters worsen water-related crises
- Regional disparities in water availability across Northern, Eastern, and Western India
- The direct impact on the human rights of marginalized communities, including their right to life, housing, and health

🚨 Call to Action: We urge policymakers, academics, and environmental advocates to explore these critical findings. Addressing water-related human rights violations is imperative if we are to create sustainable, climate-resilient communities.
