Partner Sylvie Gallage-Alwis and Associate Nicolas Ndiour examine the UFC-Que Choisir's (now Que Choisir Ensemble) newly launched platform, Que Choisir Réclamations, which enables consumers to raise a complaint directly with a business.

In their article, Sylvie and Nicolas note that the platform allows companies to protect themselves against future disputes, however they caution that companies in France should remain vigilant.

Sylvie and Nicolas predict that the new platform is likely to increase the volume of complaints sent to companies because it is easy to use and free of charge initially.

Next week, Partner Ulrich Helm and Counsel Dominik Schramm are attending the Datacloud Global Congress 2026, from 2 - 3 June at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

The Congress brings together senior decision-makers from across the digital infrastructure sector, including hyperscalers, data centre operators, cloud providers, investors, energy providers and enterprise end-users.

This year’s Congress will focus on real business impact, with discussions addressing the boardroom-level insights, commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships shaping the future of the industry.

As the sector continues to expand, major digital infrastructure projects are increasingly giving rise to complex contractual disputes. Ulrich and Dominik look forward to meeting with industry peers and discussing the litigation and arbitration risks facing the sector.

Partner Ela Barda and Associate Myriam Benazza's latest article discusses the EU AI Act imposing transparency obligations for companies using generative AI, effective from 2 August 2026.

Whilst Article 50 establishes these new obligations in general terms, translating them into concrete technical and organisational measures requires further guidance. Ela and Myriam note that the AI Office’s Transparency Code of Practice aims to bridge that gap by offering stakeholders an actionable compliance playbook.

For online platforms navigating an already dense regulatory stack, however, the Code also raises new questions.

Partner Ela Barda recently commented and provided top tips to comply with the EU AI Act's transparency requirements in Compliance Week.

The EU's recent publication of this updated code of practice is designed to help companies interpret the AI Act's transparency obligations, which highlights the challenges organisations encounter when attempting to comply with regulations that are widely expected to be rigorously enforced.

Ela notes that the code "adds a new compliance layer on top of an already dense regulatory stack".

As part of London International Disputes Week (LIDW) 2026, Signature is pleased to be co-hosting a panel discussion titled ‘When potential meets dispute: valuing damages in early-stage ventures and projects’ on 3 June at The Brattle Group’s office from 9:00 to 10:30.

The panel will be moderated by Signature's Arbitration Partner Tsegaye Laurendeau alongside co-host Richard Caldwell, Principal at The Brattle Group.

Our expert discussion also includes guest speakers Mélissa Trovoada Darko, Senior VP & Associate GC at IHS Towers, Ilinca Popescu, Principal at The Brattle Group, Franck Nganou CFA, Director at Hannam & Partners, Marnix Leijten, Partner at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Colin Liew, Partner at Providence Law Asia LLC, and Diogo Duarte de Campos, Partner PLMJ Colab Angola - RVA Advogados.

Early-stage projects and ventures can demonstrate great potential but don’t have a reliable and consistent performance track record. This presents arbitration tribunals with a challenge when assessing damages. Should they accept that the project will deliver as promised or should they adopt a more conservative approach? What methods can capture the value of the future potential, and yet properly account for risks? How can Tribunals arrive at a reasoned and reasonable damages award and avoid making a mistake of drawing a speculative conclusion on the one hand or adopting an overly pessimistic approach on the other? This panel of damages experts will explore these questions and make experience-based suggestions.

Join us from 8:30 for a light breakfast and the chance to network with fellow attendees.

For 2026 Mental Health Awareness Week, Signature is encouraging colleagues to recognise the positive impact small acts of kindness can have in the workplace.

As part of Signature's activities this week, the team has introduced a 'Box of Kind Words', giving colleagues the opportunity to leave short notes recognising the hard work, support, and contributions of peers across the firm.

The initiative is a simple reminder that a few kind words can go a long way, particularly in creating a supportive and inclusive working environment.

Thank you to everyone taking part!
