The UK Government has published a consultation outcome on
"Artificial Intelligence and IP: copyright and patents".

One point the publication makes, which I think is worth repeating, is that AI-assisted inventions may still be patentable even if the AI can't be named as an inventor:

"Other Patent issues

78. We are concerned that the recent publicity about naming an AI system as an inventor risks the incorrect conclusion that UK patent law does not protect AI-assisted inventions. A patent may in fact be granted for an AI-assisted invention provided the application satisfies the legal requirements set out in the UK Patents Act 1977".

🤘This week's Rockin’ Patent®: Nura Holdings Pty Ltd’s “Personalization Of Auditory Stimulus” | US Patent No. 9,497,530🤘

🎵 This patent appears to relate to Nura Holdings Pty Ltd’s ‘Nuraphone’ headphones. Inside the ear cups is a pair of earbuds that sit in the top part of the ear canal. These play high mids and treble while mids and bass notes are reproduced by a large driver in the main body of the ear cup. Nura claims that the headphones automatically learn and adapt to users’ hearing using small, sensitive microphones embedded inside each ear cup, detecting the user’s response to the audio signal. This signal is then modified to achieve desired hearing. If you’re curious to learn more about the mechanics, see here (https://www.wired.com/review/nuraphone-wireless-headphones-review/).
