Under three weeks til the Three Peaks 🥾

In 18 days’ time, a valiant group of our colleagues will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for our charity partners Day One Trauma Support.

The Hudgells hiking squad will be completing the 38km trek up (and down!) Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough with a 12-hour time target.

As platinum sponsors of Hull & East Yorkshire PFC, it was great to catch up with the team last month.

Helen and Paul from our marketing team attended a commercial partners' training session - experiencing first-hand what it's like to play football in a power wheelchair, while chatting to the players and their families to understand how much the sport positively impacts lives.

As we continue to raise funds and awareness for this wonderful organisation, we sent a team to take part in the club's annual footgolf event, in collaboration with the 360, Chartered Accountants Foundation. Our squad played nine holes of footgolf and finished a creditable 7th out of 22 – not a bad day at the office for Team Hudgells.

Senior Associate Solicitor Tracy Stansfield is literally going the extra mile as she gears up for her Mont Blanc charity trek in aid of Day One Trauma Support 🏔️🥾

Now into her second week of prep, Tracy’s really picking up the pace. She’s taking on an impressive training challenge: covering three miles every single day for 30 days, mirroring the mighty height of Mont Blanc itself.

Week two saw Tracy power through a 7k fell run to Stoodley Pike. She also clocked up SIX 5k walks, including a scenic stroll around Hollingworth Lake while pushing her grandson in his pram, and a multi-tasking mission while carrying a birthday bun for her son 🎂 Now that’s what you call taking the cake!

Week three is just around the corner – what will she tackle next? 👀

A massive congratulations to Neil Hudgell, who last weekend completed the Cape Town Marathon!

Running alongside Paul Spence and Eon Visual Media owner Matt Dass, the trio were in South Africa to raise funds for our charity partners P • A • U • L For Brain Recovery, for whom Paul is CEO.

Paul, Neil and Matt were competing in the 26.2-mile challenge to shine a global spotlight on those affected by acquired brain injury (ABI) – an injury caused to the brain since birth and the core campaigning message of P.A.U.L for Brain Recovery.

Did you know the Trust is conducting a 'lookback review' of the treatment provided to 1,472 breast surgery patients as failings have identified cases of cancers being missed, delays in diagnosis and patients undergoing more extensive surgery than necessary.,

It is an absolute honour to be shortlisted at the Manchester Law Awards in recognition of our work for victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena attack, alongside our friends and peers, Slater and Gordon Lawyers - UK, Broudie Jackson Canter, Byrom Street Chambers and Temple Garden Chambers.

Our client, a 41-year-old man from Hertfordshire, expects to have a permanently scarred groin area after a lidless cup of hot coffee slid into his lap from a tray table on a long-haul Virgin Atlantic flight.

Nicholas Gibbs, from Harpenden, was returning to London Heathrow from Las Vegas with his partner, Claire, in December 2025 when he suffered “life-changing” wounds.

He has now instructed Thomas Roughley from Hudgell Solicitors to investigate the incident as he believes Virgin Atlantic has “shown a complete disregard for what happened”, and that his in-flight tray table was “badly slanted and too flimsy to carry food and drink”.

Back for its second year, the Hudgells Corporate Touch Rugby Tournament promises a fun-filled event of rugby, music, food and fundraising in aid of Day One Trauma Support and the Hull KR Foundation.
