From 31 July 2026, the Maychild Lettings business and its managed property portfolio transferred to SBK Lettings. Existing landlords and tenants will continue to receive full property management support from the SBK Lettings team.

We asked Helen Walthorne, the owner of MayChild how her 100 mile walk is going...

Helen said "My feet are sore!"

Helen is walking 100 miles on the ancient Camino pilgrimage route in Spain. Starting her adventure at Ferrol, to the final destination, the famous Santiago de Compostela.

The journey is taking Helen up and down hills, through woodland, tiny hamlets, farmhouses and villages... finally reaching The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela on Day 6.

Helen is following the 'shell', the most well-known and iconic symbol of the Camino.

Helen said "This is a personal and challenging journey... a true test of endurance and a personal journey of mental and physical achievement!

I've been touched and heartbroken by cancer this year. I've witnessed those nearest and dearest to me struggle to cope with the stress of waiting for results, entering into the unknown and the relentless treatment that makes you feel sick. "

So, while Helen pushes ahead to complete her personal challenge. Let's push for better cancer support for all. We are not asking for a new pair of walking shoes. Please give £8 to Marie Curie, because they do amazing work.

All at MayChild want to express our deepest sadness and condeolenses following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Through the country's toughest moments and greatest achievements; in times of despair and times of hope, Her Majesty has continued to encourage and inspire us all throughout her 70 years of service.
Our office will be closed on Monday 19th September as we all pay tribute to the Queen.
