When we end up with a problematic intestate estate, some of the most common phrases which we hear are:

1) "They thought that it would all just go to us as their next-of-kin."
2) "They thought that we could just sort it out between ourselves."
3) "We didn't realise that step-children are not treated equally."

The law governing the treatment of estates without a valid Will is almost 100 years old. Chances are, there is something particular to your estate which is not best served by this antiquated legislation.
