Together, we have raised a further £287 (not including gift aid!) for the which will go towards their really big reFURb, helping them to help more animals in need within our local area 🐶🐱🐭🐹🐰🦊

Paws & Paddles Charity Table Tennis Tournament! 🐾🏓💷

With just over a week to go, here are some of your frequently asked questions answered:

Prizes - there will be two vouchers up for grabs, for whoever comes in first and second place.

Bringing someone along - yes, please do. We just ask that they RSVP and donate, so we know how many to expect and provide refreshments for etc.

Knowing how to play - you don’t need to. The tournament is just going to be a casual game, with most of us figuring it out as we go. No prior knowledge needed.

Refreshments - there will be some light ones on the night, please let us know ahead of time if you have any allergies or dietary requirements so that we can work around these.

On Thursday, a number of our committee attended the Huddersfield & Dewsbury Incorporated Law Society’s annual dinner.

As always, it was fantastic to see the room packed full of talented lawyers across our community, many of whom we have the pleasure of working with, or having studied alongside. We look forward to seeing our JLD members entering the dinner in years to come as paralegals, solicitors and future partners/directors in their own firms.

It was an honour to attend and to be invited, and we are already looking forward to next years!

This weekend, I had the pleasure of travelling to
London for the National Junior Lawyers Division Meeting. It was a fantastic experience getting to represent the and to meet so many other passionate and dedicated junior lawyers representing their own divisions/groups.

It was lovely to meet everyone who had travelled from various parts of the country, and to see a bredth of firms and areas of law represented, from large city firms to smaller high street ones. I was of course proudly representing .

One thing floated at the meeting was the National Junior Lawyer’s Summit, and the potential for something similar to this to be held further North. It was marvellous to hear Daniel, from advocating for this to start in Yorkshire, given the strong legal community in our region. The hope is that by holding events like this across the country, moving each year, it would maximise the number of junior lawyers able to benefit from attending.

Finally, a huge well done and congratulations to everyone who was nominated for awards at the Junior Lawyer’s Gala. I hope you all had a wonderful time! 🎉

Join us for our last fundraiser of the year raising money for the 💙

We will be picking up the paddles, and getting into the swing of it for a charity tennis tournament! There will be refreshments and a raffle (because who doesn’t love a prize?!) 🏆 🍰 🎁

Teams, friends and family are more than welcome! 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

Tickets are £5 each, with all the donations going directly to the charity. Please RSVP via our website. Donations can be made either via the Justgiving page, or on the night in person. 💷🔗

Paws and Paddles!

Coming soon to a venue near you (as long as you live/study/work/have a firm with an office in Kirklees or Calderdale…) Paws and Paddles!

Grab your enthusiasm, maybe even your friends and family, and join us for a table tennis tournament! 🏓

Skills? Coordination? Fitness? Not required. You only need to bring yourself, a willingness to join in and £5 as a donation to help fundraise for our charity of the year, 🐾

Sadly, there will be no actual paws in attendance on the day. But every penny raised, will go towards helping our local RSPCA to continue helping animals in the local area, and with their ongoing Big ReFURb!

So start asking your friends, tell your dog/cat/hamster/goldfish/rabbit/budgie/gecko/dragon that we say hi, and watch this space for the when/where ℹ️
