Be honest, when did you last use that gadget at the back of the kitchen cupboard? 🍳

The kitchen is the heart of the family home, all those Sunday roasts, school lunches and cuppas over the bench. So it's no surprise it's the hardest room to downsize... and the one with the most hiding in the cupboards! Going from a 5 bedroom to a 3 bedroom home means roughly 2 out of every 5 cupboards need to go empty. Sounds scary, but it's completely doable with a clear head and a bit of honest sorting.

Does a Rightsized home mean giving up on comfort? Not a chance. 🏡

So many Kiwi empty nesters tell me they worried their downsized home would feel... well, small. But here's what I see time and again: when you move into a space that's truly Rightsized for your life, and you furnish it with intention, it feels MORE like home than the big family house ever did.

A few of my favourite tips for creating a cosy haven in your new place:
✨ Choose furniture that does double duty (storage ottomans are a game-changer)
✨ Let light do the heavy lifting, mirrors and sheer curtains are your best friends
✨ Keep only what you love, and display it with pride... Remember the "how much do I love you" section in my book??!
