If you saw our last video, this is what the toilets for the Uber drivers at Birmingham airport look like. Drivers have to wait for Uber jobs on the NCP car park (sometimes they have to wait hours), and while they’re parked there they have to pay. GMB Midlands

Uber drivers have to wait hours for jobs at an NCP car park at Birmingham Airport. The toilets are in poor condition, Muslim drivers have to pray on a cold and dirty floor, there’s nowhere to sit or buy food- and the drivers have to pay by the hour for the privilege of being there. Uber, NCP, and BHX are all making money off the drivers- and giving them nothing in return. Drivers are working hard and deserve better than this! GMB Midlands

GMB private hire driver reps went to Parliament to attend the Transport Select Committee.
GMB national officer Eamon O’Hearn gave evidence to MPs of the conditions and hardships our members are facing in the private hire sector.
Big changes are coming and it’s vital our members are represented at every stage, and any proposals will be supporting their incomes.
Wolverhampton Council were also there and MPs questioned them on why they give out so many licenses.
Licensing of drivers and operators needs an overhaul to make it fairer for those just trying to earn a living.
