When someone dies intestate, the law decides who inherits based on their family circumstances. This can be especially important for unmarried couples, as a long-term partner does not automatically inherit.

“How can a property purchase move as efficiently as possible?” 🏡

If you're buying, make sure your finances are in order and that you complete the requested paperwork promptly. Having your identification and proof of funds ready can also help avoid unnecessary delays when your conveyancer needs them.

If you're selling, start gathering documents relating to the property. Depending on your circumstances, this could include title information, planning or building regulation documents, guarantees and warranties.

You can't control every part of a property transaction, and delays elsewhere in the chain can still happen. What you can do is make sure you're not the person everyone is waiting for.

There is no automatic arrangement that applies to every family, and shared care doesn't necessarily mean children will spend exactly half their time with each parent.

A Lasting Power of Attorney is often associated with getting older, but planning ahead doesn't have to wait until later life.

An LPA allows you to choose people you trust to make certain decisions on your behalf if you become unable to make them yourself.

Putting one in place while you have mental capacity means you remain in control of who you appoint. It can also give your family greater clarity about your wishes and potentially avoid the need for a Court of Protection application later.

There are different types of LPA covering financial decisions and health and welfare, so it's important to understand what each one can do.

One challenge, one determined team and one cause that means a great deal to us ✨

After weeks of fundraising and preparation, the Langley Wellington team took on the 10K Warrior Run in support of The MOG Project, helping to raise awareness of MOGAD and funds for research and family support.

It was hot, challenging and certainly memorable!

Most importantly, the support we've received has helped us raise £2,500 and exceed our original fundraising target. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our campaign or encouraged the team along the way.
