We commenced business in 2009 having been set up by solicitor advocate John Carruthers who left the Scottish bar for this purpose. John had detected an unmet demand for modern and responsive legal services of a high quality at competitive cost. We have grown steadily since then but remain approachable and accessible. Although we are a relatively new firm we have a depth of experience and expertise often found only at large commercial firms.

A huge well done to our very own Colette Kerr, who completed her first ever half marathon on Sunday at the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run in Glasgow - finishing in an incredible 2 hours and 6 minutes.

Colette ran in memory of her dad, raising money for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland - a cause close to her heart.

She wanted to thank everyone who supported her along the way: her friends, her family, and her running group, the Roukie Runners. A first half marathon is no small feat, and to do it for such a meaningful cause makes it all the more special.

We closed the doors on Wednesday for our training day, up at the City Stadium at Lesser Hampden, home of@queensparkfc and a club we are proud to sponsor.

We welcomed four speakers over the day:

- David Clapham, a past president of the Glasgow Bar Association and a part-time sheriff for nearly twenty years, on what forty-five years in practice teaches you.

- Professor John Anderson of Strathclyde Business School, a chartered accountant and a Founding GlobalScot, on entrepreneurship and the business of running a business.

- Patrick Scott SC, who practised as an advocate for thirty years before moving into mediation, on resolving disputes and on avoiding them in the first place.

- Fiona McMillan from , who runs our digital presence, on how businesses are adopting AI and what it takes to do it well.

Thanks to all four speakers for joining us, and to the team for throwing themselves into it. A genuinely valuable day!

Anyone who left Lesser Hampden early on Saturday missed the point.

The Spiders were 2-1 up with a minute to go, and plenty of teams would have played out the clock. Queen's Park kept going and made it 3-1 in the 89th.

That mindset is one we recognise. The last five percent of any job is where it's won - the final missive before your house purchase settles, the clause checked one more time before a contract is signed, the detail that gets spotted because someone stayed switched on to the whistle.

Queen's Park went a goal down on Saturday in their Premier Sports Cup opener - but they didn't panic. Connolly levelled, then Ruth and Todorov sealed it. 3-1. Job done.
