**Best Start Foods cards** - check your balance and don't miss out!
Best Start Foods helps eligible people with the cost of buying healthy food and milk when they are pregnant or have a child under the age of three.

The payment is delivered via a prepaid card and is topped up with up to £36 for each eligible child every four weeks.
Since launching in 2019, more than 7,000 of the issued cards have never been activated and over 3,000 have been activated but never used. This means that some cardholders have not spent their payment and may have built up large balances.

Families issued with a prepaid card to help with the cost of healthy food shopping have been urged to check they aren’t missing out on part of a total of £2.3 million in payments which have yet to be spent.

• The self-registration system is open to all adults and will enable anyone, for example, new to Scotland or did not have an up-to-date registered home address to come forward.
• For those who have previously received an appointment and could not, or decided not to, attend, the portal provides the opportunity to now take up the offer of a vaccine and ensure protection against COVID-19.
• Those who sign up will receive a text or email with details of their appointment which they can change if the time or location is unsuitable.
