Congratulations to our second year trainee Kirstin Hudson, pictured with partner Kevin McCarron. Kirstin now has her gown and will be appearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court and courts throughout Scotland to represent our clients in criminal, family and child law matters.

Some great East End histories on the Project Glasgow page - this one featuring our Duke Street office!

Turnbull McCarron Solicitors is the perfect tie-in to our next Dennistoun snippet.

Their premises is split across two different tenement blocks in Duke Street. The one on the right was actually built on a corner site (take a keek on Google Earth to see how it bends behind its neighbour). That's because the block on the left was the second home of Whitevale Bowling Club, the second-oldest private bowling club in Glasgow.

Formed in 1836, the club was originally situated in the Whitevale area before moving to the bottom of Hillfoot Street, eventually settling at the top of Whitehill Street. The lighter block had its west-facing windows filled in when the darker block was erected.
