The Student Director team are delighted to announce that applications for the 2026/27 Executive Committee are now open! ๐ŸŽ‰
With exams now finished, this is the perfect time to get involved in the Clinic and gain valuable experience alongside your studies. These roles are open to absolutely everyone in the Clinic โ€” no previous committee experience required! Weโ€™re simply looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to learn and get involved ๐Ÿ’ผโœจ
Being part of the Exec Committee is a fantastic opportunity to:

Each year, the Clinic recruits a small number of students on a part-time paid basis over the summer to help maintain our case load, develop projects, and prepare for the year ahead.

โœจ Position details:
๐Ÿ“… Start date: w/c 15 June 2026
โณ Duration: 10 weeks
๐Ÿ’ท Pay: ยฃ13.52 per hour
๐Ÿ•’ Hours: 15 hours per week

To apply, you must:
โœ”๏ธ Have completed a minimum of 2 in-person cases (excluding online cases)
โœ”๏ธ Be returning to the Strathclyde Law Clinic after summer

If youโ€™ve been thinking about getting more involved in the Law Clinic, this is your chance. Being part of the Committee is a great way to build leadership skills, gain valuable experience, and have a real impact on the Clinicโ€™s future.

Weโ€™re delighted to announce that applications for the 2026/27 Law Clinic Executive Committee are now live!

Getting involved in the Committee is a great way to build experience, develop valuable skills, make connections, and play an active role in shaping the future of the Clinic.

Interviews will take place on 6โ€“7 May, with the new Committee beginning on 1 June 2026.

Join us on Wednesday 1 April, 1โ€“3pm (GH515, Graham Hills Building) for our upcoming training session led by members of the SSSC.

This session will cover the Fitness to Practice processโ€”an increasingly important and often complex area we encounter across full representation, IAC, and Online cases. A great opportunity to build your understanding and confidence in this area!

We're looking forward to our upcoming Employment Law Training this Wednesday, delivered by our supervisor, Kathleen.

This session will cover the fundamentals of employment cases and the work we undertake in employment matters at the Clinic.

As with our previous sessions, this is a fantastic opportunity to build foundational knowledge before starting casework, so we strongly encourage you to attend if you can!

Our second training session of the year is coming up!

This session will be delivered by our supervisor Claudia and will cover the fundamentals of housing law. This will give you the essential knowledge needed to work confidently on housing cases within the Clinic.

In-person attendance is encouraged to get the most out of the session, but a Zoom link will be circulated for those joining online.

Next session: ๐Ÿ  Housing Training - 25th February, 2-4pm in GH621
