More thoughts from Belgrade.
The Serbs are still very miffed about the 78 day bombing of Belgrade by NATO forces in 1999 as part of the Kosovo conflict. The bombing led to around 500 civilian casualties. Some of the bombed buildings have been left deliberately unrepaired, and attitudes to the West are ambivalent.
I thought "Border Control. You are leaving the Republic of Serbia. Goodbye" was a good selfie idea. The customs officer thought otherwise and waved an admonishing finger at me. Maybe in the old days they would have confiscated my camera
