A massive step towards modernising Scots Law in the fields of both inheritance and the administration of Trusts. As the VMH SOLICITORS East of Scotland Tennis Leagues head into the last week of competition, some Divisions have already been won - and it’s all to play for in a number of others.

Braid Lawn Tennis Club have secured top spot in Women’s Div 1 - the club is a ten-minute walk from the bright 1-bed flat we’re selling in Comiston Road https://www.vmh.co.uk/properties-for-sale/property-details/?prop=287143 - while in Women’s Div 6A St Serfs Tennis Club currently top the table with Joppa a close second. The clubs play each other in Round 10 in a winner-takes-all tie.

In the Men’s competition, though St Serfs have already won Div 1, they suffered their first defeat of the season this week to Thistle Tennis Club who move into equal second spot with Lomond Park. We are consistently at the FORE!-front of championing sport and look forward to supporting the Comiston Ladies Golf team, competing in Division One of the Midlothian Ladies Interclub League. Best of luck for their home and away matches this season.

The latest monthly go-to for everyone involved in buying and selling property in the Edinburgh and Lothians - the ESPC house price report for May - was published recently, featuring a huge amount of interesting information.

The average selling price of property in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and the Borders was £287,249 during March to May 2026, up 1.6% year-on-year. Meanwhile the median selling time for property was 25 days - two days quicker than the same period last year. Edinburgh’s housing market continued to be dominated by 1-bed and 2-bed flats with Leith, Slateford and Gorgie maintaining their popularity.

Good luck to the Scotland National Team who kick off their FIFA World Cup campaign this weekend against Haiti in Boston, USA.

As we all know by now, Scotland last took part in the tournament 28 years ago - that year was also a memorable one for our Director Kevin McLuskey, who joined VMH SOLICITORS in February 1998.

While most of the VMH staff will be cheering on Scotland from home, Kevin will be marking that 28th anniversary by being in Boston to support the team on Sunday in person!

“I’m excited about my trip to to USA,” he said before jetting off, “as I’ve been waiting a long time for the chance to support our national football team at a World Cup.”

So Kevin didn’t make the shorter trip across the channel to cheer on Scotland 28 years ago?

“I got married in the summer of 1998,” he replied. “A trip to France that year would have resulted in a very short marriage!”

Best wishes to the whole Scotland squad from all at VMH - home and away! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
