It’s fair to say no two days in law are quite the same…

A recent Dundee allotment dispute made the Courier and Evening Telegraph after an appeal was rejected by the Sheriff Principal.

The case involved a £5,000 claim following the termination of an allotment tenancy, with allegations including harassment, racial abuse and breaches of human rights.

Ultimately, the appeal was refused with the evidence, including video evidence submitted by the appellant, failing to support the claims being made.

It’s certainly an unusual case, but there’s a fairly ordinary legal lesson behind it: what you can establish with evidence matters.

MML was involved in the case, and it’s another example of the wide variety of disputes that can find their way through the Scottish courts.
