Supporting and encouraging the next generation is always a privilege, so it was fantastic to be at the Ashcombe School Careers Fair last week, meeting so many enthusiastic students and their parents and hearing about their aspirations for the future.

As a local firm, we love supporting our community and encouraging young people as they explore the wide range of career opportunities available to them. We enjoyed sharing insights into the legal profession, talking about different career pathways, and answering lots of thoughtful questions along the way.

A huge thank you to The Ashcombe School for inviting us to be part of such a great event. We're also incredibly grateful to Carol, Nicola, Heather and Lily for representing Downs Solicitors so brilliantly and sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience.

It was fantastic to see so many people taking positive steps towards planning for later life at the Planning for Your Future Awareness Day in Leatherhead yesterday.

The event, which was hosted by Surrey County Council and Age UK Surrey, brought together a range of experts and organisations to help people make informed decisions about their future.

The day featured presentations from the Society of Later Life Advisers, financial planning professionals and accredited members of the Lifetime Lawyers association including Downs Solicitors consultant solicitor Liz Dalgetty.

Liz, Katie and Charlotte from the Downs Private Client team were delighted to meet more than 100 attendees throughout the day, answering questions and sharing practical guidance on topics including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and future planning.

Thank you to everyone who came along and stopped by our stand for a chat. It was wonderful to see so many people leaving with practical advice and the confidence to take the next steps in planning for the future.
