What a night at the Yorkshire Legal Awards! 🏆🥂

Team CMP had a fantastic evening at the Yorkshire Legal Awards last night, celebrating alongside some of the very best in the legal profession.

Although we didn't bring home an award this year, we're incredibly proud to have been shortlisted in five categories alongside some of Yorkshire's largest, most respected and longest-established law firms.

🎉CMP Legal celebrated its fifth birthday this year, and reflecting on everything our team has achieved in that time makes this recognition even more meaningful.

We've built an exceptional team, continued to grow and established ourselves among some fantastic names in the legal sector – something we're immensely proud of.

🥂What a night at Network King’s Dealbreakers! 🎲

Team CMP had a fantastic evening at Genting Casino last week, supporting and sponsoring the latest Dealbreakers event alongside main sponsor John Pye.

📸We clearly spent far too much time enjoying ourselves and not enough time taking photos… although we did manage to capture what appears to be Stacey playing a solo game of hide and seek. 😂

👏 More importantly, the evening raised an incredible £3,740 for Weston Park Cancer Charity 💜

💗 A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated and played their part in raising such a fantastic amount.

We’ve spoken before about the new Companies House identity verification requirements, and recent enforcement action against directors who failed to meet the new requirements is a timely reminder that these obligations shouldn’t be overlooked.

The first prosecutions for identity verification offences have now resulted in three directors being fined.

What a day at the Chesterfield Business Expo! 💗

Team CMP had an amazing day yesterday at Casa Hotel for the Chesterfield Business Expo – Autumn 2026.

There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, plenty going on and, of course, our Spin the Wheel competition proved popular! 🎡

Today marks a very exciting milestone for Maya Woolfrey, who has officially qualified as a Solicitor! 👏

Maya joined CMP as a Paralegal and has continued to develop her career with us, progressing through her training and now taking the next step as a qualified Solicitor.

Bereavement leave is changing from April 2027.

Losing someone close, or experiencing pregnancy loss, can be an incredibly difficult time. New employment rights are set to give employees greater protection and flexibility when they need time away from work.

Key points for employers:

▪️ A day-one right for all employees
▪️ Up to two weeks’ unpaid leave
▪️ Protection covering pregnancy loss before 24 weeks, including miscarriage, terminations and unsuccessful IVF embryo transfers
▪️ Leave can be taken flexibly within 56 weeks
▪️ No evidence of the bereavement can be required

The changes are due to come into force in April 2027, giving employers time to ensure their policies provide the right support while meeting the new requirements.
