💡Changes due in October 2026 will make employers liable for harassment carried out by third parties, including customers, clients, suppliers and contractors!

There will be no requirement for the employer to have had knowledge of the harassment.

👉The employee will only need to evidence that the third-party harassment took place and that the employer failed to take ALL reasonable steps to prevent the harassment.

That means it will no longer be enough to simply react when an issue arises. Employers should be reviewing policies, training staff and managers, and conducting workplace risk assessments now!

The question for employers is simple: If a claim was brought, could you demonstrate the steps your business took to prevent harassment?

Last night, Stacey Pocock had the pleasure of joining Sheffield & District Law Society's Behind the Warpaint panel event at St John's Buildings in Sheffield.

⭐Hosted by Lindsey Gaimster, President of Sheffield Law Society, the panel brought together Stacey, DJ Francesca Gardener, HHJ Jessica Pemberton and Katherine White of St John's Buildings for an open and honest discussion covering career highlights, changes within the legal profession, diversity and more.

💄The event also included a make-up masterclass, creating a unique setting for conversations around confidence, career journeys and the experiences of women in the legal profession.

The panel discussion was incredibly well received, with some fantastic audience engagement and thought-provoking questions throughout the evening.
