Tomorrow is the BPE charity golf day for the Footprints Foundation! 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️🏌️

We’re looking forward to a day of golf, networking, and of course raising money for Footprints. Our team of volunteers headed to South Africa this Saturday to get cracking on projects in the poorest parts of Soweto, Johannesburg.

In addition to our golf day, we’re hosting a 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to raise money for this brilliant charity! Thanks to the team at Aitch Bee for working with us to make this possible!

We’ve got an excellent array of prizes available, including:

🌟 An alpaca encounter for 6-12 people in Usk, South Wales

We had a full marquee last night at Sandford Park Alehouse for the BPE charity quiz for Cheltenham Animal Shelter!

The teams were put to the test with a variety of questions on music, film and tv, sport, geography and of course, two animal themed rounds 🐱 A special shoutout to our quiz mistress Samantha Taylor 🎤

Congratulations to Shaw & Co who took second place, and to our winners Albright IP Limited who were joined by Helen Cankett from BPE 🎉

Thanks so much to all of our attendees who helped us to raise a massive £2,958 for the shelter!

On Sunday 20 September, members of the team will be running in Run Cheltenham in aid of our charity of the year, Cheltenham Animal Shelter 🎽 🏃‍➡️ 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

Matt Baker, Alex O'Neill, Samantha Taylor, Eleanor Gobey, Joseph James, Jasmine Bailey and Lily Clayton will be taking on the half marathon to raise money for a cause that means a lot to our team and the local community.

With over 60 animals currently at the shelter, every donation will help continue providing care and finding loving homes for animals in need 🐾

A huge congratulations to Nicola Dicks, who has passed SQE1 with flying colours! 🎉

Nicola joined BPE in 2019 as a secretary in our Family team. Since then, she has progressed to paralegal and is now undertaking a solicitor apprenticeship, continuing to work with clients while developing her legal skills.

Her journey is a brilliant example of where hard work, ambition and the right support can take you. The next stage for Nicola is building up to qualify as a solicitor in 2028.

In our latest article, Nicola shares more about her progression, why she chose the apprenticeship route and what she has learned along the way. Jemma Jones, Head of Family, also explains why alternative routes into qualification can be so valuable.

We heard all about the products and got a demonstration of how they work. This was a great opportunity to network and learn new things about developments in the care sector.

Congratulations to Megan Elsmore who kayaked a whopping 23.3 miles from Tewkesbury to Gloucester on Saturday to raise money for The Footprints Foundation!

Megan has done a fantastic job in fundraising so far and has achieved 78% of her target, so she’s not too far off her £750 goal. If you’d like to sponsor Megan, check out the link in the comments.

Of course, she had to take along her BPE water bottle to keep her hydrated along the way!

BPE are proud to be working with The Footprints Foundation again this year, and Megan is one of the volunteers that will be heading to South Africa to volunteer for this charity in September. Last night, BPE Solicitors LLP were invited along to the opening of the new Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham Education Centre on Grove Street.

This beautiful new centre is going to be the home of many projects that help to make arts and culture accessible to everyone within our local community.

As well as expertly tailored performances at The Everyman Theatre for those with mobility issues and audio or visual impairments, the Everyman offer a variety of inclusive activities including:
🌟 Goldenstep – performing arts dance classes for older adults
🌟 Everyvoice – a network of community-based choirs
🌟Casting on – a theatrically themed knitting group
🌟Golden Voices – a free community choir for those living with dementia and their family / carers
🌟Spotlight Club – a social theatre interest group for over 50s

On top of this, they offer fully funded bursaries for their youth theatre and choirs for low-income households, and at TwoCan Inclusive Youth Theatre Company!

We’re so excited to see what the future holds for this new centre and for the Everyman theatre as a whole.
