Congratulations to Megan Elsmore who kayaked a whopping 23.3 miles from Tewkesbury to Gloucester on Saturday to raise money for The Footprints Foundation!

Megan has done a fantastic job in fundraising so far and has achieved 78% of her target, so she’s not too far off her £750 goal. If you’d like to sponsor Megan, check out the link in the comments.

Of course, she had to take along her BPE water bottle to keep her hydrated along the way!

BPE are proud to be working with The Footprints Foundation again this year, and Megan is one of the volunteers that will be heading to South Africa to volunteer for this charity in September. Last night, BPE Solicitors LLP were invited along to the opening of the new Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham Education Centre on Grove Street.

This beautiful new centre is going to be the home of many projects that help to make arts and culture accessible to everyone within our local community.

As well as expertly tailored performances at The Everyman Theatre for those with mobility issues and audio or visual impairments, the Everyman offer a variety of inclusive activities including:
🌟 Goldenstep – performing arts dance classes for older adults
🌟 Everyvoice – a network of community-based choirs
🌟Casting on – a theatrically themed knitting group
🌟Golden Voices – a free community choir for those living with dementia and their family / carers
🌟Spotlight Club – a social theatre interest group for over 50s

On top of this, they offer fully funded bursaries for their youth theatre and choirs for low-income households, and at TwoCan Inclusive Youth Theatre Company!

We’re so excited to see what the future holds for this new centre and for the Everyman theatre as a whole.

A massive 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 to BPE Solicitors LLP's John Workman and Eleanor Gobey who cycled 140 miles from Ravenglass to Newcastle to raise money for The Footprints Foundation 👣🚲

The team have collectively raised nearly £3,000 for this amazing charity. John and Ellie can't wait to head out to South Africa and see the impact this money has on the people of Soweto.

𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐏𝐄 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 🚲

John Workman and Eleanor Gobey are cycling Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for The Footprints Foundation 👣 This is a circa 190-mile cycle route from Ravenglass in Cumbria to Wallsend in Newcastle.

Today consists of a fairly flat 90 miles, but tomorrow is a very lumpy 100 miles 😳

We’re wishing John, Ellie and the rest of the team the best of luck in this admirable challenge for Footprints!

Footprints are a fantastic charity that support the most vulnerable people in South Africa. They help with construction projects, food preparations and feeding stations, helping to support orphanages and more. John and Ellie are in the BPE team heading to South Africa in September to volunteer with the community in Soweto.

🌟 Cheltenham Care Professionals returns to The New Club 🌟

This time, we were joined by mental capacity assessor and author of Grandpa on a Skateboard, Tim Farmer. Tim told us all about how he assesses mental capacity, including debunking the myths of fluctuating and borderline capacity.

We walked away full of cake and new information! Thank you to The New Club for looking after us.

Our next event is in September and is open to anyone connected to the care sector, as well as anyone who works with elderly clients or those living with dementia.
