🌟 Cheltenham Care Professionals returns to The New Club 🌟

This time, we were joined by mental capacity assessor and author of Grandpa on a Skateboard, Tim Farmer. Tim told us all about how he assesses mental capacity, including debunking the myths of fluctuating and borderline capacity.

We walked away full of cake and new information! Thank you to The New Club for looking after us.

Our next event is in September and is open to anyone connected to the care sector, as well as anyone who works with elderly clients or those living with dementia.

The latest instalment of C2S: HR Focus was held at Randall & Payne. We heard from Steve Conlay, Emily Arnold and Miriam Grazier from BPE, as well as Francesca Wild from The Ladder Group, Sarah Taylor Phillips from Career Voyage, Emma Summers from Juice Recruitment and Will Abbott from Randall and Payne - what a busy morning!

🌟 Cheltenham Science Festival is back 🌟

We celebrated the launch of the 2026 Science Festival with a breakfast event at The Nook, where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, had the chance to catch up with old and new contacts, and heard from the fabulous Robert Llewellyn and Imogen Bhogal from Everything Electric.

“Electric cars won’t melt the grid” says Robert, who is still the owner of the first ever electric car that was imported to the UK in 2016, the Nissan Leaf.

It was a fascinating start to the day and a great way to launch the Science Festival. We’re looking forward to the other events over the next few days!

🌟 BPE Conference 2026 🌟

Thursday, 14th of May was the first ever BPE Conference, and we think it’ll be the first of many!

Well done to everyone who helped organise this fantastic afternoon and helped everyone to get to know more about the different teams here at BPE. Thank you to all of our speakers who made their every day tasks fun and interactive. Who knew you could turn a presentation about property into a game of Monopoly?! 🎲🏡

A massive thank you to our guest speaker, Colin MacLachlin, who talked to us about resilience in careers and all areas of life!

We finished the day with food and drink from Dunkertons’ fantastic bar and selection of food vendors, and a good time was had by all!

Now, time to plan the next one… 👀

We’re delighted to confirm that our charity partner for the new financial year is Cheltenham Animal Shelter.

Rebecca Pike, Karmen Waldron, Anneka Fallows and Alice Duffy from our ESG Committee went to the shelter yesterday for a tour and to find out more about what we can do to help over this financial year.

This year, the shelter is celebrating 100 years of being open, so it’s a brilliant time for us to get involved!

On the 1st of April we celebrated the promotions of 7 of our brilliant lawyers, but we wanted to have a separate day to celebrate another very important promotion.

We’re delighted to announce that Peter Gay has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer! 🥳

Pete has worked at BPE for nearly 30 years and in that time has risen through the ranks and become an integral cog in the BPE machine.
