Today marks two years since we opened Jackson Stops Cheltenham.
We started with a clear idea of the estate agency we wanted to create. We wanted our clients to deal directly with experienced people who knew their property, understood their circumstances and remained involved from the first conversation through to handing over the keys.
Two years later, that is still exactly what we do.
The faith people have placed in a relatively new business has been quite remarkable. Since we opened, we have exchanged contracts on almost £40 million worth of real estate and have been instructed on a further £37 million worth of property, much of which has yet to come to the open market.
Among those sales was the achievement of which we are perhaps most proud. Earlier this year, we broke the record for the highest sale price of a residential property in Cheltenham.
We have also completed discreet sales that never appeared online, sold properties that had previously struggled with other agents and guided some extremely complicated transactions through to completion, often long after the working day was supposed to have finished.
Of course, it has not all gone to plan.
We have lost instructions we wanted to win, watched sales fall apart, dealt with chains collapsing at the worst possible moment and experienced quieter periods when the telephone did not ring as often as we would have liked. Some ideas have worked brilliantly and others have not worked at all.
Running the business has tested us at times, but it has also taught us an enormous amount. The recommendations, referrals, repeat business and generous reviews we have received have made the difficult days worthwhile.
We are now looking ahead. We plan to grow the team carefully, launch our new newsletter and record the first episodes of our new podcast, Property, Considered.
Thank you to every client, buyer, solicitor, surveyor, photographer, colleague, friend and family member who has supported us. We genuinely could not have reached this point without you.
