MGF Legal Services

MGF Legal Services Providing legal advice on Will Writing and Lasting Powers of Attorney applications at a place and time that suits you.

I am qualified Lawyer offering advice on Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney and Funeral Planning. I studied the CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice and was delighted to be one of only 32 members nationally to be awarded the Fellow grade of membership of the Society of Will Writers. I started out learning about intestacy the hard way after both my parents tragically died wit

hout leaving Wills. In the following years I was legal guardian to my siblings and a step-daughter, had three children of my own, and experienced a marriage break-up. So whilst I understand normal family situations, I also have a deeper understanding of how complicated modern families can be! Having kept my own Will up-to-date throughout all of my changing circumstances it’s fair to say Estate Planning is something I’m quite passionate about. I can fit in around your busy lives and talk when it’s convenient for you, whether that be daytime, evenings, weekends or even during your lunch break. It really doesn’t have to be a headache and could actually save you and your family a lot of hassle in the long run! I pride myself on offering an excellent customer experience. Planning for our death is not something most of us enjoy doing but we do it to try and take some of the burden away from our loved ones. I understand this and try to make your Estate Planning experience as straightforward as possible. I can guide you through the whole process and offer advice tailored to your specific circumstances. I work on a fixed fee basis so there are no nasty surprises. It may seem like a daunting task but the process is actually very straightforward and takes far less time than you think. It is the only way to protect your family and give you peace of mind. There really is no time like the present- call or message today to arrange an appointment convenient for you.

Half of Wills in the UK are out of date!

Research done on behalf of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) has found that almost half of UK adults who have a Will have not updated it for more than five years.
SFE is a national association of independent lawyers who specialise in legal matters for the elderly and vulnerable. They understand the difficulties that can arise when people do not leave an up to date Will and commissioned the report to assess the extent of the problem.

Their study found that 47% of those with Wills had not updated it in the recommended five-year period. It also uncovered the following:

It’s one of those things we hear all the time, but unfortunately, "Common Law Spouse" isn't a legal thing in the UK.

It might come as a bit of a surprise, but living together: no matter for how long: doesn’t give you the same automatic inheritance rights as a married couple or those in a civil partnership. Without a Will, your partner could find themselves in a really difficult position, potentially losing out on the home or assets you’ve shared together.

We’re here to help make sure that doesn't happen. Our goal is to give you total peace of mind, knowing your partner is fully protected and looked after, exactly how you’d want them to be.

We offer:
Free initial consultation
Fixed fees (no hidden surprises!)
Professional advice

With Dementia Action Week, it’s a gentle reminder of the steps we can take today to look after our future selves.

One of the most supportive things you can do for your family is setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) while you’re fit and well. It isn't about giving up control: it’s actually about keeping it. By acting proactively, you ensure that if you ever need a helping hand, the people you love and trust most are the ones making the big decisions for you.

Without an LPA, families often face a stressful and costly court process just to manage basic affairs. We’re here to help you avoid that, making sure your wishes are respected and your loved ones are protected.

At MGF Legal Services, we keep things simple and stress-free. We offer fixed fees and offer a free consultation

Let’s get that peace of mind sorted together. Pop over to our website to book a free initial consultation or send us a message to find out more.

Who gets the dog?

It’s a question that might make you smile, but for most of us, our pets are more than just animals: they’re cherished members of the family. Whether they’re waiting by the door when you get home or curled up at your feet while you work, they bring so much joy to our lives.

As we celebrate National Pet Month, it’s the perfect time to think about their future too. Did you know you can include specific instructions for your furry friends in your Will? From naming a "pet guardian" who will love them just as much as you do, to setting aside a small fund for their food and vet bills, we can help you make sure they’re always looked after.

Planning for your pets doesn’t have to be complicated. At MGF Legal Services, we take a gentle, holistic approach to estate planning to ensure everyone you love: including the four-legged ones: is protected.

Want to chat about including your pets in your plans? We offer a free initial consultation over the phone or over a video call.

Let’s give your best friend the security they deserve.
