With the school holidays over, September has different opening days (see below).
Why not pop down for a browse now that the crowds have departed, we have some gorgeous new bits and bobs arriving weekly!

Cliff-side caution 🌊⚠️

After the extremely dry summer cliffs may be more prone to cracking and rock falls. Stay away from the base of cliffs and don’t sit beneath them.

As tempting as it is to explore the rugged beauty of our coastline, it's important to consider your safety too. 🥾🌿

Cliff falls can happen unexpectedly, but given how wet this winter and spring have been, we have experienced an unprecedented number of falls this year. 🌧️🪨

Please take care on cliff edges but also beneath them. ⚠️

When visiting a beach, please consider the following: 👇

🪨 Look for activity of a recent landslide (freshly fallen rocks at the base of a cliff or a discoloured section of the rock face).

⛰️ Vertical and undercut cliffs are more likely to produce toppling collapses with free-falling material, rather than rolling landslides where the side of a cliff can slough off in a rolling, less dramatic fashion.

⚠️ Cracking in the side of a cliff is a strong sign it’s unstable, particularly if the cracking occurs on the top of the cliff.

💧 Look for water seeping out of the cliff. Ocean waves cause long-term erosion, but large surges of runoff can have a more immediate destabilizing effect.

🌊 Stay further away from taller cliffs, and consider visiting the beach at low tide when there’s more room on the beach to recreate further from the bluffs.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Wales Festival of Seaweed 🌊

Discover the wonders of seaweed during four days of festival fun in St Davids, Pembrokeshire.

The festival is made possible thanks to players of the National Lottery - as it forms part of the ‘Unlocking the Power of Seaweed’ project - a partnership between WWF Cymru, SAMS, PEBL and us Câr-Y-Môr

Together we’re exploring how seaweed is a hidden hero for people and nature and could urgently help address the climate crisis. 

Wales Festival of Seaweed is a part of this unique project, and an opportunity for industry experts, conservationists, politicians, investors, educators, fishers, farmers, foodies and the wider community to come together to debate and discover the financial and environmental benefits that seaweed has to offer our communities and country as a whole.

Learn all about and discuss this amazing marine algae, in a very special corner of Wales where the purity of our waters and power of seaweed is already being harnessed by a range of local businesses.

📣 The 2026 fledging season is upon us and our posters will be appearing across Pembrokeshire over the next few days as we promote our Manx Shearwater Rescue hotline.

👀 Please do keep your eyes peeled over the next month or so for young Manxies that might become stranded on land.

💡 Please help us encourage anyone living near the cost to ensure their curtains are closed when it's dark outside and if possible to switch off outside lights to help reduce artificial light attracting young birds landwards.

🤝 We really hope local businesses, community councils and organisations will support us again this year, especially in areas like Newgale, Broad Haven, Solva, Little Haven, St Davids but also in Haverfordwest, Milford, Pembroke Dock and elsewhere around the county.
